Edmonton’s LRT network is expanding, and the City has been collecting stories from Edmontonians about why they choose LRT and where the future expansion will take them!
These loyal riders shared their stories for a chance to win a family pass to the Edmonton Valley Zoo, and there’s more winning to be done. Visit our team at the LRT stations below and tell us where LRT expansion will take you for a chance to win one of three Yeti tumblers.

Take a look at some of the people we met.
Like Cody, who takes the train to the University of Alberta.
And Nicholas, who enjoys the smooth and continuous mode of travel.
Or Julie, who sees the future coming with LRT expansion to the west end—and is on board.
Thanks to Julie and Nicholas and Cody and dozens of others who stopped to share their LRT stories on with us back on July 25 at Health Sciences LRT Station. We put everyone’s name in a draw and randomly selected one winner. The name chosen was Elaine’s. She’s a nurse who told us she appreciates getting to and from work on the Capital Line.
Elaine won a family pass to the Edmonton Valley Zoo. Congrats!
Students, while you’re considering your own LRT story, take a look at Ian’s. He prefers the train to the automobile and expects his LRT connection will stay strong even after graduation.
“I’ve heard that the LRT is expanding to the four major hospitals in Edmonton, and being that I’m interested in a healthcare career, the LRT could really help me get to work,” Ian said.
The LRT network currently has stations at the University of Alberta, MacEwan University and NAIT. The future Valley Line West extension will also feature a stop at NorQuest College This makes taking the LRT a great option for students.
How about you, where will you go?

Editor’s note: That’s Derrick at the top of the post. He’s looking forward to LRT service to West Edmonton Mall.
