Editor’s note: To keep ETS customers in the loop and up to speed on the ongoing work at Central Station, we’re providing weekly updates on construction milestones.
Week 2 followed a productive first week for construction crews! Crews removed the insulation, tiles and wiring left over from last week’s demolition work. Crews also installed the new ceiling frame and new LED lights, which span the length of the Central Station platform.
This project is expected to finish on schedule, and LRT service will return to Central Station on April 28. While trains continue to pass through the station, trains will not stop to pick up or drop off passengers until the start of LRT service on Sunday morning. Please use Bay/Enterprise Square or Churchill stations for LRT access until then.
Our 40+ year-old LRT network needs these essential upgrades and maintenance to ensure it keeps serving Edmontonians for another 40 years and beyond. Thank you for your patience as we complete these station upgrades. We look forward to sharing some photos of the final result early next week.
