City takes on urban isolation with #sidewalktalk

Councillor McKeen is a pretty friendly guy. He has a vision to make Edmonton a more connected, engaging city and it’s starting with a conversation of urban experience, daydreaming and art. City of Edmonton social workers, BetaCityYEG and Councillor McKeen launched #sidewalktalk in three locations in Enterprise Square.

#Sidewalktalk is a public art project that addresses urban isolation through active and engaging community participation. Participants can text ‘hello’ to 587-801-2348 and are engaged in a conversation that will result in informing public art in these spaces in the future.

This new and innovative way of engaging the public is being used by City social workers in other projects across the City to grasp ideas and feedback. All you have to do is text!
